Hi! I’m so glad you found me!

For years, I’ve always said offhandedly that I was going to write a series of children’s books. It was more of a wish than a declaration because I really never had the courage to do it.

I recently had a big birthday. If I’m being honest, I pretty much hate turning older. That’s just the real truth. For the months leading up to my birthday, I said a lot of things that sounded like, “Who starts something like that at this age?” or “I’m too old to do that now.”

But a trusted advisor asked me this question:

“You could easily live another 35 to 40 years. What were you doing 35 years ago? You’ve lived a lifetime since then, and in the next 35 to 40 years, you’re going to want to do something of value.”

That hit me like a ton of bricks.

I went home and got serious about publishing. When I started, I had no idea what all would be involved, nor did I have all the skills I would need to see it through to the end. To be honest, I still don’t. But I resolved to figure it out with a little help from my friends and a great lot of help from the Lord.

It has long been my passion to inspire little hearts to follow Jesus and to encourage parents to dive deep into the discipleship of their kids. So, out of these two passions and a love for reading and writing…here I am.

Am I still afraid? Gosh, yes. But my desire to do something for the Lord has trumped that and given me the courage I needed to write these stories.

I can’t imagine a more rewarding or important job than the discipleship of our kids. I believe it is one of the greatest responsibilities God has entrusted to us. My prayer is that I can somehow offer tools to parents through stories that will help them ground their kids in the Word.

In 2 Timothy 1:14, Paul reminds us to, “Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you—guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in us.”

I think this is such a great reminder to parents that not only should we guard this job with all our hearts, but we should also remember that we have the Holy Spirit to help us in it. We don’t have to do it alone, because alone would never be enough.

So let me just encourage you with this: Keep on, dear parent. Take great care of that “good deposit,” and rest in knowing that God sees you and has you every step of the way.

I can’t tell you in words how honored I would be for you to follow along on this journey. I have a lot to write, book recommendations to share, discipleship encouragement I’ve learned through my own beautiful and sometimes overwhelming walk, and fun content for families looking to raise readers and followers of Jesus.

It won’t always be perfect, and I’m still figuring it all out. But I’m so humbled that you’ve taken the time to read all the way to this last paragraph.
